.. which was the United States's entry into the Space Race, occurs on 2008 January 31, and to commemorate the event Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) will be hosting a conference on this event for educators, museum staff, and high school students this January 26 & 27 in Pasadena, CA. Registration by January 22 is required, and there is a registration fee of $40.
